Going by their collective nouns, a group of them is too many. A group of skunks is a surfeit, and a group of nuns is a superfluity.

Surfeit carries with it the connotation of gorged nobles passed out after a feast. Superfluous feels a little more like a cup spilling over. Either way, we don’t associate skunks with food (maybe tomato juice if you grew up with one of those dogs you just let out of the house and they come home after having gotten into something) or nuns with overabundance, which makes it even more fun! At least, it does for me.
